Diesel Flameproof Equipment t/a Elgin Flameproofing has been involved in the design and manufacture of flameproof components and kits for diesel engines since 1976. During this time Elgin has flameproofed over 1500 diesel powered machines and pump sets for use in various hazardous locations in fiery mines and industrial applications to various specifications from fully flameproofed units to exhaust emission control.

Elgin Flameproofing has held the “SABS Quality Assurance Mark” for the flameproofing of diesel engines since 1983.
 
A wide range of diesel engines have been flameproofed to SABS (South African Bureau of Standards) and DME (Department of Minerals and Energy) requirements including:

  • Ford - 3,4 and 6 cylinder

All development and modifications are done with the approval of the relevant engine OEM’s, therefore not effecting the OEM’s warranty period.
